Andover Badminton Club
Introduction
Thank you for the interest you’ve shown in our wonderful club and below is a brief explanation as to what we are about. We are a competitive but very friendly club, based in Andover. We play with feather shuttles. The club maintains a minimum standard requirement and welcomes players aged 16 and older. However, visitors are always more than welcome to come and give us a try.Where and when
Our club meets every Thursday from 19:30 to 21:30, offering four courts. Main sports hall at Harrow Way School, Andover, Hampshire, SP10 3RH.The club nights for this season commence on Thursday, 19th September 2024, and typically align with the school calendar, concluding around May 2025. Subscriptions
Subscriptions for the 2024-2025 season are £165 per person, which covers Badminton England registration as well as court hire & shuttle usage. Juniors and Students rate is £82.50.
For visitors the first week is free of charge, weeks 2 and 3 have a visitor’s fee of £10 per club night. We do have a wide range of playing abilities and should you meet the appropriate standard and wish to join the club the annual subscription will be applicable from week 4, but with the £20 visitors fee taken off the cost.
League Badminton
We do play competitive team badminton, and for the coming season we have a number of teams in the Basingstoke league http://www.bdbl.org.uk/
For the 2024-2025 season we will be entering two Men’s teams, two Mixed teams and one Ladies team.
Junior Badminton Coaching
The Junior Club will maintain its regular meeting time from 18:00 to 19:15. Sessions will take place at Harrow Way School every Monday from September 9th until October 21st, covering a period of seven weeks. Those interested in attending are encouraged to reach out to the coach, Martyn Isherwood, who is a Badminton England Level 2 and LTA Level 3 certified coach, on 07787 541584.
The fee is £42. For families with two or more children participating, the fee is reduced to £35 for the second child and £28 for the third child.
